The 4th generation
Part-23 aircraft

About Elixir Aircraft.

Elixir Aircraft, a company headquartered in La Rochelle, France, with over 140 employees, was created in 2015 to meet the challenges of Global General aviation.

The objective of the French company: to make safer, more
economical and more versatile aircraft. Complexity is the reason why current aircraft suffer from failures (technical or human), and are expensive to operate (consumption and maintenance). Elixir Aircraft employs a technology from the world of competitive sailing, the Carbon Oneshot, to simplify the structures. More simplicity means less failure, therefore more safety, but also less maintenance, and less costs (estimates of 50€/h/60$/h of fuel and maintenance).

3 complementary
co-founders.

Elixir Aircraft was created by the coming together of three very complementary profiles with the idea of designing a new 4th generation part-23 aircraft (EASA CS23 certified, FAA FAR 23 certification ongoing) in order to meet the challenges of today’s general aviation.

Arthur Léopold-Léger
Co-Founder and CEO - a multi-skilled leader.

Arthur has always been a passionate person. From professional level sailing to flying, his multifaceted experiences have enabled him to build up a vast amount of knowledge. First, he is highly skilled skipper. For  six years he concentrated on preparing for the Mini-Transat, a solo crossing of the Atlantic. He built his sailing boat using state-of-the-art materials and technologies, notably from composite. Having passed his pilot license at the age of 16, Arthur is a well-seasoned pilot. Between test flights and deliveries of various aircraft all over Europe, as well as flights on behalf of his former customers, he has accumulated over a 1000 hours of flying.

Beyond his passion for piloting and sailing, Arthur is also a technician. He was educated as an aerospace engineer at Kingston University near London and holds an aeronautical maintenance national license (LNMA). In the past ten years Arthur has assembled around thirty aircraft; he has also been responsible for follow-up work on over 100 other aircraft, this helping him gather  the best and widest knowledge of the market expectations and needs.

With the fulfilment of his many projects Arthur was convinced he was cut out to create his own company. Surfing on the borders of sailing and aviation, he was convinced incorporating his knowledge of the composite technologies and advancements made in competitive sail boat manufacturing was the best way to do so.

Cyril Champenois
CMO, CSO and co-founder - an aeronautical engineer, with a skill for sales and marketing

Cyril Champenois is the Marketing & Sales Manager. Cyril met Arthur in the early 2000s while studying aerospace engineering at Kingston University in London. After graduation, he worked in marketing and sales for Dassault Systemes. For five years, he spent most of his time traveling the world, meeting with companies in the aerospace and defense sector. From Boeing to Airbus, from Dassault Aviation to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), Cyril had the opportunity to learn how to manage complex sales projects and understand industrial processes. Cyril has met many executives from the aerospace and defense industry, and he brings his network to Elixir Aircraft. He is responsible for the successful marketing of the Elixir, as well as the EASA approval of the production organization.

Nicolas Mahuet
CTO and co-founder - an experienced design office manager with outstanding technical skills

Born with the passion for planes and engineering, Nicolas naturally chose to become an engineer and studied aeronautical mechanical system design in Toulouse. Where after receiving his degree he then joined the DYNAERO Company, where he achieved his training as a versatile aeronautical engineer. For 15 years there he took part in designing and bringing to life some of the highest performance aircraft on the market, working across different departments such as research and development, production and  after sales operations.

During this time Nicolas also became a seasoned glider pilot keen on competitions and long range cross-country flights. As a pilot instructor he was passionate in  sharing  his know-how and his experience. Nicolas is Microlight Aircraft pilot and soon to become a plane pilot, he holds a national license in aeronautical maintenance and for more than 10 years and was the maintenance manager the Dijon glider club.

His technical skills and passion made him the perfect third co-founder for Elixir Aircraft. With the help of his design office team, he was able to design the Elixir in 2 years and certify it in 3 years. The fact that Nicolas is the only engineer in the world capable of mastering the entire development process of a OneShot aircraft, from design to production and certification, deserves to be highlighted.

The best of general aviation.

Full Glass Cockpit
Ergonomic modern cockpit, to reduce pilot workload.

Glass cockpits are completely part of today's and tomorrow's aviation landscape. The Full Glass Garmin configuration allows the instructor to teach in optimal conditions.
The simplified reading of flight parameters allows a better focus on piloting.

Crash-worthy fuel tank
1 fuel tank.

The fuel tank is designed to endure to the most brutal impacts, protecting you from explosions. The foam inside acts as an additionnal safety layer and avoids slushing during the flight. Moreover, the OneShot eliminates the need to manage separate fuel tanks. Say goodbye to balance problems and to fuel managing mistakes.
As simpler is often better, both the pitch and the rpm are managed by a single lever. All of that while taking advantage from excellent performances in all corners of the flight domain.

Balistic parachute

The Elixir was designed to be put in all hands. Because everyone deserves a second chance, the BRS ballistic parachute ensures an ultimate safety level and is included as standard on all Elixir aircrafts.

AoA
Angle of Attack Indicator.

The angle of attack indicator is an instrument that provides you a reliable indication of the situation of your aircraft, regardless of its weight and speed.
When the incidence becomes critical, the orange and then red chevrons light up and an audio alarm sounds, warning the pilot of the dangerous situation.

Landing gear
A heavy-duty landing gear.

Hard landing? No problem, the oleopneumatic landing gear equiped with Beringer wheels and brakes offers you a high level of safety and comfort with each landing.

News

Highest safety level. More innovation.

CS-23 certified

CS-23 certification is issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Certification ensures compliance with the safety regulations established by the latter. It concerns all aspects of the aircraft, whether its structure, powertrain or flight characteristics. This is a guarantee of safety but also of quality. The Elixir is CS-23 certified. CS-23 certification is issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
